Meet Mary Openlander, PT
Physical Therapist in St. Louis, Missouri
Owner/Director of Physical Therapy Innovations
Mary has always been a genuine people person. Her caring nature is matched only by her exceptional skills. She sums up her philosophy by saying, “If I treat people with respect and believe in them, even when they don’t believe in themselves, outcomes are much more likely to be positive. I give clients my undivided attention and spend time teaching them about their bodies and how best to deal with various conditions.
I practice solo because I think the busy clinics with a different therapist seeing a client every visit confuses the rehab process and interferes with a good result. I even seek out the more complicated patients who may have been passed around at big clinics.
I really enjoy when people get the return to function they came for. I love the sense of accomplishment in their eyes and their new sense of hope.”
Mary graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from St. Louis University in Missouri. Not only is she a clinical education instructor with St. Louis University, but she is also certified in Trager® psychophysical integration by the renowned Trager® International.
Mary is fully licensed by the state of Missouri. She is a member of the United States Trager Association, American Physical Therapy Association, and Missouri Physical Therapy Association. Mary is the former board president of the United States Trager Association and is a published writer. She co-authored the book Breast Cancer: One Illness. Two Women. Four Seasons.
